Caterham revved up for '3 Hours of 300' at Snetterton

Championship points may not be on offer at Snetterton this weekend but bragging rights certainly are as Caterham Motorsport stages its second endurance race in as many years - and this time around it is bigger and better than ever.

Debuting at the Norfolk venue last year as the ‘Caterham Grand Prix’, the two-hour contest proved to be an instant hit with competitors and spectators alike; so naturally it returns for 2026 albeit as a three-hour bout titled the ‘3 Hours of 300’.

Open to drivers with a national race licence or above, the standalone event will see machines from the Bilstein Caterham Roadsport Championship, FanDrive Caterham Seven 270R Championship and Vertex Caterham Seven 310R Championship go wheel-to-wheel for honours.

Something that is unique to other endurance races are the team sizes are permitted; and more that there is no set number that everyone has to adhere to. Solo drivers can choose to complete the race while teams of two or three are also welcomed.

When it comes to the format it is simple. A 30-minute qualifying will set the grid on Saturday morning before the 180-minute race takes centre stage later that afternoon.

Teams will be permitted to complete a total of five mandatory pit stops, with a dynamic handicap being applied to each class (Roadsport, Seven 270R and Seven 310R) to each class in form of minimum pit stop times. Finally, all classes will run on Nova ZZS tyres.

All of the action will be broadcast LIVE on the official British Automobile Racing Club YouTube channel, with coverage beginning at midday on Saturday.
