Motorsport is about much more than the drivers you see out on track. Behind every BARC race meeting is a community of competitors, marshals, officials and volunteers working together to make the action happen.
Whether you're completely new to motorsport or already have experience in the sport, the BARC offers a variety of ways to get involved. You could take your first steps into competition, volunteer trackside as part of our Orange Army or develop your skills as a motorsport official.

How can I get involved in Motorsport?
Marshals
Get closer to the action and join the Orange Army. Volunteer marshals play an essential role in the safe and successful running of BARC motorsport events across the UK.
Officials
Help make motorsport happen. From race control and scrutineering to timekeeping and other specialist roles, motorsport officials are vital to the successful running of every event.
New to Motorsport?
Getting involved in motorsport can be easier than you might think. Whether you want to compete behind the wheel, volunteer as a marshal or become an official, there are opportunities for people of different ages, backgrounds and levels of experience.
As a Motorsport UK-registered club, the British Automobile Racing Club works closely with Motorsport UK, the governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the UK. Their Get Started resources provide useful information for anyone taking their first steps into the sport, including the different types of motorsport, competition licences, costs, volunteering and opportunities for young people.
