Truck Racing History
Truck racing began in the United States in 1979, before spreading to Europe and other parts of the world. The FIA European Truck Racing Championship was established in 1985, helping the sport develop into an international motorsport discipline.
In Britain, truck racing became well established during the 1980s, with the British Truck Racing Association founded in 1984. Today, the British Truck Racing Championship is the country's leading truck racing series, combining the scale and spectacle of heavy-duty race trucks with close, competitive circuit racing.
