JSCC History
The Junior Saloon Car Championship first ran in 2014, taking over from a previous junior championship that had helped provide a pathway for young drivers moving into senior motorsport.
Designed to bridge the gap between karting and car racing, the JSCC gives drivers aged 14 to 17 the opportunity to compete on some of the UK's leading circuits. Its one-make format and evenly matched Citroën Saxo-based cars put the focus firmly on driver development and close racing.
Over the years, the championship has helped launch the careers of drivers who have gone on to compete at higher levels, including the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship and international racers.
