British Hillclimb Championship History
The British Hillclimb Championship was established in 1947, with the inaugural event taking place at Bo'ness in Scotland. The first championship consisted of five rounds, including iconic venues such as Shelsley Walsh, Prescott, Bouley Bay and Craigantlet, with Raymond Mays claiming the inaugural title.
Over the decades, the championship has grown into one of Britain's longest-running motorsport series, visiting historic hillclimb venues across the UK and Channel Islands. The championship is organised by the British Automobile Racing Club on behalf of Motorsport UK.
